Microsoft Dynamics Convergence 2013 Embraces The Latest Business Trends and Technology
AKA Enterprise Solutions was lucky to have a strong presence at Convergence this year in New Orleans, for Microsoft’s yearly conference for Dynamics Customers and Partners. With 13 team members in attendance we had a large pool of talent and insight to draw from. After reviewing the many different sessions covering new releases, added features, broader functionality and enhanced integrations for Microsoft Dynamics AX, GP, CRM and BI, here are the highlights from our team:
Microsoft and the Cloud -While other vendors have rushed to deliver Cloud ERP to the marketplace, Microsoft has taken a more calculated route. Instead of rushing a cloud offering out to the market, they have remained steadfast to the core value proposition around Dynamics ERP. They waited for cloud technology to get to a point where true web clients (HTML 5, etc) could give end users as rich and functional an experience as a traditional client /server applications. Microsoft’s focus on ease of use for Dynamics ERP users and interoperability with other tools that users rely on (Exchange, Office for example) are central to moving Dynamics ERP to the cloud.
Integration between Excel 2013 and AX 2012 R2 gets stronger and tighter – Now report data stored in Microsoft AX can be exported to a spreadsheet where it can be easily customized and analyzed and automatically refreshed as conditions change.
Mobile Apps – Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 Mobile applications: Expense Management – capturing and reconciling your receipts on your Mobile device; Time-sheet – capturing your time-sheets on smart phone or windows 8 tablet; Approvals – approving different workflow documents on your tablet or through any HTML enabled email client. Social Interaction– was the overarching theme this year with many new vendor products and integrations with existing product lines.
Enterprise Social connects your organization across platforms, departments, devices and locations using Sharepoint 2013 and Yammer.
MarketingPilot is an integrated marketing management and automation tool in MS Dynamics CRM, linked to social media. The implementation of MarketingPilot guarantees consistency in the data management as everything is centralized in a master marketing database.
The social media monitoring analytics vendor, NetBreeze acquired by Microsoft and offers the ability to measure the how positive (or negative) people are towards a company or product and be able to react to any negative feedback in a timely manner.
